Charlette Rhue Bennett
Charlette Rhue Bennett is a native and resident of Anson County. Having been educated in the local school system there, she later earned a Bachelor of Arts double degree in English and Sociology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in May of 1983.
After graduation, she followed in her mother’s footsteps, enrolling in Leon’s Beauty School in Greensboro, North Carolina and establishing the foundation for a career in the beauty business that has spanned over 36 years.
Her eye for all things creative was instrumental in unleashing a passion for writing that she discovered quite by accident. Encouraged to write a Christmas play for her church, she soon realized that she felt transformed when creating characters and situations to tell stories familiar to many.
Charlette has written a total of 6 plays, beginning with the very first one in 2007. They are all different, each with its own twists, turns, and surprises.
She continues to work as owner/operator of Rhue’s, Too! Beauty Salon, founded in 1986, while pursuing her dream of having her plays come to life and making a positive impact on the audiences that attend.
